Hello and welcome!

I am an organist, choir director, and piano teacher living in Wilmington, North Carolina. I grew up in the beautiful farming country of the Hudson Valley in upstate NY, and got my undergraduate in organ performance at Schenectady County Community College and Boston University, studying with Alfred Fedak and Peter Sykes. I received both my masters and a performance diploma in organ performance and sacred music from Indiana University with Janette Fishell and Christopher Young.

I have a variety of quirky interests, both musical and non-musical. The musical interests include the importance of body and breath awareness in cultivating a healthy, versatile, and naturally relaxed technique, how historical fashion might have influenced musicianship and technique, and the history of hymns. Non-musically, I love quilting, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery, as well as exploring new hiking trails along the North Carolina coast with my fiancé.

This site is intended to be a single location for my observations and thoughts on organ technique and hymn playing, but there will probably be some quilting, nature, and cat photos here and there as well!
